| 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful:  Exactly what I was looking for, This review is from: Philips SPA7210 Multimedia Speakers (Personal Computers) After trying these speakers on my PC, Logitech Z323, Bose Companion II, and Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, and returing each of them for various reasons, I bought these at bigmart just to give them a try. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The sound is very clear and crisp, the stereo separation is excellent, the bass is fine. One aspect I really like (that none of the others could provide) is very low volume sound that is equal volume through both speakers. On all of the others above, when the volume was turned very low, sound was produced from only one speaker. Not good. Of coures, if you're really into loud, bass-driven sound for movies or games, the others would be great, but not for very soft listening. Only two minor drawbacks to these from Philips. One, the cords are a bit short, and two, the main speaker is not protected by a grill of some sort. Otherwise, I highly recommend these for relatively inexpensive but high quality speakers. So, of course I shop after work, midnight, and I came across these speakers. They were 69.98 at Walmart, which was more than I really wanted to pay for sound for computer (have paid in excess of 300 for headphones, however) but I figured they could not sound bad for that price. I pulled them out and had them blaring at 3:30 a.m this morning and they were awesome! I then got up and decided to take a second listen because everything sounds good to me at 3 in the morning and found they sounded better. The bass is awesome and the volume is nice. I think this is a nice purchase, and for an impulse purchase I would say I did good! I needed something better than the monitor's speakers for my PC, well I was amazed at the quality of the sound that these speakers produced and combined with the Polk PSW10 powered sub-woofer a simply incredible 2.1 setup. You will not have to turn the volume up to more than 30% to hear the dialog or the performers fingers sliding across his guitar's steel strings. Music and movies really jump out at you with very clean tones and no distortion, these SPA7210's are a great buy and great little speakers. I highly recommend them even without the sub-woofer.... |
